Overview

Our quality assured Resilience Based Supervision (RBS) Training Course through the AIM Quality Mark scheme provide learners with core skills, knowledge and competencies to offer support and supervision to staff working in a range of settings (including people working in peer-based roles).

Supervision is a vital tool for supervisors to support their workers to gain confidence and competence within their role allowing the time and space to reflect and learn. It also builds on the workers skillset towards further career progression.

Drawing on frameworks like the Health Education England Competence Framework and principles of compassion and Trauma-Informed Care, this course promotes emotional regulation and well-being tools to enhance team dynamics and support healthy work cultures.

Why Resilience Based Supervision Matters

RBS focuses on the emotional impact of lived experience roles, acknowledging the complexity of the environment and supporting the development of personal and organisational strategies, which facilitate self-care. It allows workers to review and reflect on their work with others, talking about areas that they might experience as difficult or distressing.

Good practice within supervision can have a positive effect on any workplace culture, retention of staff, leadership and wellbeing to highlight just a few areas.

For more perspectives on the important place of supervision check out our Exchange Magazine, Sept ’21 edition entitled - Peer Leadership and Supervision.

Our RBS Training

Throughout this two-day program, participants will explore values, reflect on challenges, and apply resilience-based principles in their practice. Our agile learning approach emphasises peer support relationships and emotional impact, fostering a positive workplace environment.

Over four half days, each session runs for three hours. Sessions are online and we take regular breaks. We also value the opportunity to pause for reflective practice, offering learners the time to process their thoughts.

Our RBS delivery team have experience of working as supervisors in a variety of settings which include the NHS, social housing, carers organisations, grassroots charities and community groups.

Our training has been awarded an AIM Quality Mark approved centre status. This is an excellence kitemark awarded to organisations who demonstrate provision of high-quality training. We have been assessed by an accrediting organisation and found to successfully offer quality assured training programmes.

You will receive a certificate following the last day of your training. It will reflect your training experience and your commitment to the course.

Attending the Resilience-Based Supervision course was enlightening, offering a different perspective from individuals in large healthcare organisations. While challenging to bridge the gaps, the experience enhanced my understanding.
With-you's courses have not only refreshed my skills but also enriched my ability to support and supervise with love, respect, and kindness.

- Michelle Atkins, Mental Health First Aider

I attended the With-you peer support work, Resilience Based Supervision training in January 2024. The training was excellent, and they signposted us to their ReNew Wellbeing Plan and Crisis Plan. As an occupational therapist working in perinatal mental health, part of my role is to support patients to return to work following perinatal mental ill health. I have found this resource to be a great tool in helping service users prepare their return to work as well as advocating my colleagues make use of it for their own mental health wellbeing. I have also completed the toolkit for myself.
